Plume listens, polishes with Claude, and pastes clean text in your chosen style. Live, below.
Why voice
You think out loud. Plume writes it down properly.
so um can we move the uh the standup to thursday no wait friday morning and uh I'll send the the notes after
Can we move the standup to Friday morning? I'll send the notes after.
Features
Plume knows which app you're speaking into and formats your words to match.
Casual in iMessage, professional in Slack, polished in Mail. Set each tone once and Plume switches automatically based on the app in front of you.
Names, brands, and jargon, always spelled right. Add a correction like "verscel → Vercel" and it applies the next time you speak.
Pick a level — None, Light, or Medium — and pick your model: Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini. It polishes your words in your voice, never someone else's.
Notes, Slack, Chrome, your editor. Polished text lands at your cursor, and if no text field is focused, a rescue panel keeps your words one click away.
Words per minute, streaks, and app breakdowns. At 1,000 words, Plume writes your Voice Profile: your catchphrase, signature words, and peak hours.
A quiet place to think out loud. Dictate drafts, to-dos, and ideas into notes that stay put until you need them.
How it works
From any app. A slim pill with a live waveform appears at the bottom of your screen.
Say it the way you think it, ums and all. Plume listens on-device.
Clean, styled text pastes exactly where your cursor is. Changed your mind? Cancel keeps a 5-second undo.
"I built Plume because my thoughts move faster than my fingers.
Turns out, everyone's do."
Mikey Fiume, maker of Plume

FAQ
Yes. The app is free. You bring your own API key from Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for the AI cleanup; a typical request costs a fraction of a cent, and short replies are handled locally at no cost. Paste your key once in Settings and it lives in your Keychain.
Download the installer, drag Plume into Applications, and open it. The app is notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app. Grant Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Accessibility when prompted; that last one is what lets Plume type where your cursor is.
Anything with a text cursor: Messages, Slack, Mail, Chrome, Notes, your IDE, ChatGPT, Claude. Plume detects the app and applies your chosen tone for that context automatically.
Only the finished transcript goes to your chosen provider (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini) for cleanup, using your key. Audio never leaves your Mac. Set Auto Cleanup to None for a fully local, verbatim mode.
Plume is free while in early access. A Plus tier is on the roadmap, and early users will always keep what they have today.
Free for macOS. Thirty seconds to install, and a lot less typing forever.
